THANJAVUR: The Trilokam Study Circle at Thanjavur organised a seminar on 'Translation and Literary Studies' to honour K.G. Seshadri, noted writer and translator, on his 80th birthday at Sri Besant Lodge on Sunday.

Prof. Seshadri has come a long way serving as a teacher, principal of Rajah Serfoji College and is presently working as Dean, Humanities and Sciences at Shanmugha Arts Science Technology and Research Academy (SASTRA) University at Thanjavur. He has written 20 books both in English and Tamil, translated Sangam Literature and Thirumurgatrupadai in English.

Y.S. Rajan, Principal Advisor, Confederation of Indian Industry, Sita Narasimhan, historian and S. Swaminathan, Dean of SASTRA, and others offered felicitations.T.N. Ramachandran, Scholar of Saiva Siddhantham, presided over the meeting. K.N. Sivaraman of SASTRA welcomed the gathering. "The Revolt of the Ears" - the English rendering by Prof. K.G. Seshadri of M.V. Venkatram's "Kathugal" was released on the occasion.
