Implementation of SIP for Autonomous Mobile Peer to Peer Networking

This project about current state-of-the-art of SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) and the use of SIP in supporting P2P (peer-to-peer) applications on mobile phones.

The use of SIP in All-IP mobile phones is a step toward achieving super networking, which tool provides sending and receiving multimedia content over a wireless network.  SIP is a signaling protocol and does not provide for the actual transport of information between communicating hosts SIP infrastructure can be used as the basis for creating peer-to-peer (P2P) applications running on mobile devices.

The concept of super-networking allows many of the complexities of the underlying network structure to be hidden from the end-user. SIP is a cornerstone in the Internet version of telephony, called Voice over the Internet Protocol (VoIP). The SIP architecture is similar to HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol) and has a modular distributed design. However, while HTTP is designed for a client-server environment, SIP devices may act as both servers and clients (i.e. P2P).

The abstract model for Super networking is composed of three basic "layers": Multi-session and/or rich calls, Plug-and-Play interactions between sessions and applications & Holistic connectivity management. SIP for application of super networking features. The analysis includes aspects of SIP services & mobility. SIP is deployed in wired networks primarily to achieve VoIP.

There are value-added additions to these VoIP installations such as one-click calls, call forwarding, conference calls, automatic redialing, voice messages, integration with e-mail, etc. The main incentive for many companies is cost-savings since the installed wired packet network.

Our aim of this Project, an implement of SIP stands in the evolutionary process of mobile application development on Super Networking.
