Commerce Industry Minister, Shri Piyush Goyal Inaugurates New ISA Building at Intellectual Property Office with Expanded Capacity and Modern Facilities

The government inaugurated an expanded Intellectual Property Office building to enhance India's capacity as an International Searching Authority and International Preliminary Examining Authority under the Patent Cooperation Treaty. The new facility increases workspace from 6,082 to 140,120 square feet, accommodating over 700 personnel, and includes modern offices for patent, design, copyright, and trademark examination, as well as an advanced international training center. The project, costing approximately Rs. 88 crore, integrates eco-friendly features like rainwater harvesting and sewage treatment to support sustainable development. This expansion aims to strengthen the intellectual property infrastructure, promote innovation as a driver of national progress, and position the country as a global hub for research, development, and IP administration.
