Bangalore to get new Swiss Consulate

Switzerland will open a Consulate General office in Bangalore later in 2008 to "further strengthen" its presence in India.Switzerland has a Consulate General office in Mumbai and Bangalore office would be second in the country.

Switzerland's Ambassador to India Dominique Dreyer said the Consulate General's office would come up in Bangalore as part of Swiss government's efforts to deepen the multi-faceted relations with New Delhi.
Dreyer said Switzerland remained amongst the top 10 foreign investors in India and the Swiss government would like to further deepen the economic and cultural relations with India.

Opening the second Consulate office in Bangalore would help strengthen the bilateral ties between the two countries, he told reporters in Bangalore.
