Health scheme: Over seven lakh families photographed

SALEM: Over 7.22 lakh families in Salem district were photographed for the distribution of identity cards under the Kalaignar Insurance Scheme for Life Saving Treatments, Collector J. Chandrakumar said.

Participating in the mass contact programme held in Chettimangurichi village in Edapadi block recently, the Collector said that the government had introduced the scheme to provide insurance cover to poor families.

The government had identified 51 procedures, which the scheme would be applicable to.

Coimbatore: Pasumpul Velli Oozhiyangal will organise a free medical camp at Tamil Nadu Boyar Munnetra Sangam Hall, Tatabad, on September 5 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. A special Teachers' Day prayer meeting will be held from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the same premises.

Well, most of the time people are depended on free medical treatment. It is because many people can't afford the medical expenses, especially poor people. In that project, many people would help and it is the best activity that we could help the community.
