Tiruchi: A free medical camp under the 'Varummun Kaappom' scheme was conducted at the Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Mannachanallur on Saturday. Forest Minister N. Selvaraj, who inaugurated the camp, distributed assistance under the Dr. Muthulakshmi Reddy Maternity Assistance Scheme to the tune of Rs.5.7 lakh to 190 beneficiaries.

Later, he inaugurated a similar camp at the Panchayat Union Middle School at Sevvanthipuram in Musiri block




Health check-up from November 13 to 15

Mega medical camps from November 16

On the occasion of National Pharmacy Week celebrations, the Krishna District Chemists & Druggists Association and the Andhra Pradesh Medical Practitioners Association are jointly organising mega medical camps at eight different locations in the city every day from November 16 to November 23. The camps will be supervised by specialists and qualified doctors who will conduct various medical examinations and supply medicines free of cost.

NIZAMABAD: Senior Citizens Welfare Society conducted a free health camp at Ahmedipur Colony for senior citizens, here on Sunday. Ganga Kishan, Chairman Exhibition Society opened the camp. Doctors from Vasavi Laser Eye Clinic, Navatha Dental Hospital examined the patients. President M.A. Sukur and secretary Narayana and chief patron Fareed Tabussum attended.


Health camp DHARWAD: A free health check-up camp will be held at the District (Civil) Hospital here on Saturday from 10.30 a.m. to 2 p.m, a release said.


MAYILADUTURAI: A free medical camp was organised by the Mayiladuturai Islamic Social Welfare Association (MISWA) at the A.V.C Kalyana Mandapam with the help of the Bharatiraja Hospital in Chennai. Over 2,300 people benefited from the camp where free ECG, ECHO and blood tests were done, the organisers said.


GUNTUR: A team of doctors from Government General Hospital organised a mega medical camp on the premises of Guntur District Jail here on Wednesday with specialists from various faculties screening the inmates.

The GGH Superintendent D. Phanibhushan and Resident Medical Officer T. Prabhakara Rao supervised the medical camp at which about 200 male and female patients were screened for their ailmetns and medicines given away.

In-charge Superintendent Jailor PMVV Subba Rao, and jail doctor TVK Chalapathi Rao were present at the mega camp at which four specialists P. Jashua, K. Srinivasa Rao, Ch. Rammohan and C. Vasavi participated.

Deputy jailor K. Narasimha Rao coordinated the event.


Free medical camp

PATHANAMTHITTA: The Bharat Sevashram Sangha, a Kolkata-based international socio-cultural and philanthropic organisation, has opened a free medical camp on the Pampa Ganpathi Temple premises, according to Sangha spokesman Brahmachary Swapan Maharaj. A medical team led by Dilip Bhattacharya and monks attached to the Sangha will camp at Sabarimala throughout the Mandalam-Makaravilakku pilgrim season, he said. The Sangha will open another camp at Appachimedu hill point on December 10.


ELURU: Members of the city branch of Indian Medical Association (IMA) will distribute clothes to the inmates of Government Home for Boys at Sanivarapupeta on Saturday at 3.30 p.m.

Superintendent of Police B. Balakrishna will inaugurate a medical camp to be organised in this connection. The children with disorders relating to paediatrics, dermatology and ear, nose and throat could avail themselves of the opportunity, according to G. Rajeswara Rao, president and D. Basava Raju, secretary of the IMA city branch.

Medical camp

ERODE: As many as 1,575 persons were screened at the medical camp conducted under the National Rural Health Mission in Kodumudi recently, says a release from the district administration.

It says of the 648 men and 927 women who underwent medical check up at the camp, 13 men and 18 women were recommended for treatment at the Government Hospital, Erode.

Of the 927 women, 62 underwent scanning; 51 persons had EGC test, the release says and adds that 141 persons were given treatment under Siddha system of medicine.

The release also says that the camp had more than 30 doctors from various branches of medicine.

Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Subbulakshmi Jagadeesan inspected the camp, the release added.
