Flying Cats launches its Training Institute

VISAKHAPATNAM

Former Miss India (2005) Amrita Thapar launched the 54th centre of the Flying Cats, an airhostess training institute, here on Wednesday. The Chandigarh-based institute claims to be a complete airhostess training school.Speaking to the media at the launch, the training institute's General Manager (south), Ramprasad, said that the aviation industry is on the boom and by 2010 it is estimated that 15 new airlines will start their operations in India.

"This would bring 450 new aircraft and create over 40,000 mid-air placements and about 80,000 ground handling jobs," he said.The institute offers a three year degree course, covering the aspects of aviation, hospitality and travel and tourism and a one-year diploma course.
Course feeThe course fee for the degree course will be Rs.1.80 lakhs for the three years and Rs.1 lakh for the diploma course. The courses are open to students with 10+2 qualifications in any of the streams.

"The course content would be equally divided between theory and both in-house and hands on practical exposure," said the Centre Director, N. Venkateshwara Rao.The Regional Director (south) of Flying Cats, Sunil Baberwal, informed that the courses are not only restricted to the mid-air placements in the aviation industry but also opens up a number of avenues in the hospitality, retail and travel and tourism industries.

The courses are being offered in technical collaboration with Annamalai University and are recognised by the Distance Education Council.The institute also has a tie-up with the UK based Active Solution Consulting Group, which provides training solution to major Airlines across the globe.
