Infosys to hire 8,000–Salary Package to Freshers–Hike in India :agree

Infosys Technologies plans to hire about 25,000 candidates this fiscal—8,000 less than it did last year. This is because the company expects the first two quarters of this year to go slow, yielding no improvements in pricing or billing rates.

Infosys Technologies plans to invest Rs 1,000 crore more towards training next fiscal, Mr T.V Mohandas Pai, Member of the Board and Director-Human Resources, Education and Research and Administration, Infosys, told Business Line on a recent visit to the city.

The company has been investing about Rs 700 crore each year towards training its employees.Infosys has a training centre in Mysore with a capacity to train 13,500 candidates every quarter—the largest training facility in the world. The campus also provides accommodation for 10,000 candidates and teaching staff.

Of the 25,000–strong recruitment planned, 18,000 offers have already been made to campuses. Typically, 70 – 75 per cent of offers convert into recruitment. About 3,500 candidates are currently undergoing training at Mysore, where the company's training institute is headquartered, and will come into delivery in the first quarter of the current fiscal, Mr S.D. Shibulal, Chief Operating Officer of the company, said in a conference call with analysts.

Infosys is offering a salary package of Rs 3.25 lakh to freshers this fiscal, up 8 per cent from last year.Also, employee salaries will see a 11- 13 per cent hike in India and 4-5 per cent hike overseas, where about 1,500 candidates will be recruited.
