Gun Case for bringing two O/U on air travel?

I am thinking about bringing two O/U on air travel. I will only bring one barrel for each gun and I hope I can fit everything into 1 checked bag.

I already have a Pelican 1720. It is very good for holding 1 gun case inside but I won't be able to fit 2 gun cases inside.

Should I have the form in Pelican cut and have both guns directly in the Pelican or I should buy a 2-gun case and have the 2-gun case inside the Pelican?

Does anyone have experience putting 2 gun cases inside the Pelican? is there enough space?

I have a pro sport K80 with 32 inches barrel and a low rib Browning with 30 inches barrel.

Thanks!

I usually take a picture at check in, just in case airline or TSA cant find it later.

You could try getting two Boyt single gun soft cases and place both inside your Pelican case. Remove all the foam from the Pelican and pack some clothing around key spots on the soft cases. This might help you avoid extra charges for weight. Plus, you'll have two soft cases for carrying your shotguns around once you get to your destination.

If you're planning more trips, finding cheap business class flights can make the travel part more comfortable.
