Top 5 Cars Most Searched On Google In 2021 In India; Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Tata Altroz, Honda City And More

While it is certainly the era of SUVs in India right now, the entry and compact segment hatchbacks and sedans continue to be popular in the country. In today's digital age one way of measuring popularity would be to see the number of searches that any particular topic gets on Google. So, when we look at Google searches in India for vehicles in 2021, the Kia Seltos took the top spot with more than 8 lakh average monthly searches. However, keeping SUVs aside, when we look at the entry and compact segment, these 5 cars topped the search results between January and November 2021.

The Maruti Suzuki Dzire is one of the best-selling cars and the highest-selling sedan in the country. So, it's no surprise that the Dzire would also be the most searched car on google in 2021, with around 4.5 lakh average monthly searches. The subcompact sedan ticks the right boxes when it comes to styling and creature comforts, and the car also comes with a peppy 1.2-litre petrol engine, with options of both manual and AMT options.

The Tata Altroz is one of the more popular models from the home-grown automaker and has made quite a mark for itself in the premium hatchback space. It was the second-most searched car on Google in 2021, just marginally behind the Dzire. The premium hatchback has also popular for scoring a 5-star safety rating from the Global NCAP. The car comes with three engine options - a 1.2-litre turbo petrol, 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine, all mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard.

The Honda City has been one of the most popular sedans in India ever since the moniker first came to our shores. Ranking at the third spot, with over 3.6 lakh average monthly searches, the Honda City has shown us that it still has a strong fan following in India. It was just in 2020 that the seventh-gen model was launched in India, and it also became the winner of the 2021 CNB Viewers' Choice Car of the Year award. The City is offered in both petrol and diesel options, with manual and automatic transmission choices.
