POWER GRID, Northern Region Transmission System-II, requires young and dynamic professionals to be inducted in various positions as indicated here under:-

1. Name of the Post: Diploma Trainee

2. No of Post: 42

3. Stipend during training period of One year (Rs.): 27500/- per month

a) Designation & Level on successful completion of training period: Junior Engineer- Gr. IV at S1 level in Supervisory category

b) Basic Pay on regularization: 25000/- in the pay scale of Rs.25000- 117500/-(IDA)

4. Qualification:

a) Diploma Trainee (Electrical): Full Time Regular 3 Years Diploma from recognized Technical Board/ Institute with minimum 70% marks for UR/ OBC(NCL)/EWS and pass marks for SC and PwD and Ex-SM candidates Higher technical qualification like B.Tech/B.E/ M.Tech/ M.E etc with or without Diploma is not allowed

b) Diploma Trainee (Electrical) for Ladakh Region: Full Time Regular 3 Years Diploma from recognized Technical Board/ Institute with minimum 70% marks for UR/ OBC(NCL)/EWS and pass marks for SC and Ex-SM candidates Higher technical qualification like B.Tech/B.E/ M.Tech/ M.E etc with or without Diploma is not allowed

c) Diploma Trainee (Electrical) for Kashmir Region: Full Time Regular 3 Years Diploma from recognized Technical Board/ Institute with minimum 70% marks for UR and OBC(NCL) and pass marks for SC and Ex-SM candidates Higher technical qualification like B.Tech/B.E/ M.Tech/ M.E etc with or without Diploma is not allowed

d) Diploma Trainee (Civil): Full Time Regular 3 Years Diploma from recognized Technical Board/ Institute with minimum 70% marks for UR/OBC(NCL)/EWS candidates Higher technical qualification like B.Tech/B.E/ M.Tech/ M.E etc with or without Diploma is not allowed

Application Fee:

Application fee of Rs 300/- (Non-Refundable) SC/ST/PwD/Ex-SM/DEx-SM/ Departmental candidates are not required to pay the Application Fee.

Important Dates

General Conditions

1 Only Indian Nationals who have attained the age of 18 years and above are eligible to apply.

2 Before applying, the candidate should ensure that he / she fulfills the eligibility criteria and other norms mentioned in this advertisement.

3 All eligibility qualification should be recognized in India and from a recognized Institution/ Board/ Council/ University.

8 Computation of age shall be done on the last date for submission of online application i.e. 12.07.2021.

9 Candidates must possess the requisite qualification prescribed for the posts on the last date of application. Date of issuance of final mark sheet shall be taken as the date of acquiring qualification.

10 Applications are required to be submitted ONLINE ONLY. Applications not in conformity with the requirements mentioned above/not in filled in online proforma /incomplete/without signature/without photograph will be rejected and no correspondence shall be entertained in this regard

11 Application fee shall not be refunded in any case.

12 In case a candidate submits more than one application for the same post, the application with the latest registration no. shall only be considered.

13 Candidates are required to fill their bank details viz. Bank A/C No, Bank Name, Bank Branch, IFSC code in online application form in order to process TA claim payments online wherever applicable.

14 Applicants should ensure that the same Color passport size photograph is used throughout this recruitment process.

15 Complaints attributable to the incompatibility of the Client Systems, ignorance of users, non-availability of internet connectivity or any other aspects beyond the direct control of POWERGRID will not be entertained in the Complaint Management System of POWERGRID. No correspondence made in Complaint Management System of POWERGRID, in this recruitment will be entertained by POWERGRID.

16 Management reserves the right to raise or lower the qualifying standards at any stage of the selection process depending on availability of sufficient number of candidates.

17 Mobile phones / iPad / iPod / Tablets or any other such electronic device is strictly prohibited inside the examination hall. Candidates are advised not to carry the same to the examination hall. Possession of any electronic device inside the examination hall may lead to disqualification of candidature.

18 Recruitment of Diploma Trainees is conducted on Regional basis against requirement of concerned region. Hence, candidates joining in such positions in region are not entitled for inter-region transfer request.

19 Higher technical qualification like B.Tech/B.E/ M.Tech/ M.E etc with or without Diploma is not allowed

21 Legal jurisdiction will be Jammu in case of any legal case /dispute.

Selection Procedure :

The Selection Process for respective posts consists of Written Test/ Computer Based Test only.

1. Written Test/ Computer Based Test shall be of Objective Type of two hours duration consisting of two parts :-

a) Part-I consists of Professional Knowledge Test with 120 questions having specific questions of respective discipline.

b) Part-II consists of Supervisory Aptitude Test with 50 questions on vocabulary, verbal comprehension, quantitative aptitude, reasoning ability, ability to determine data sufficiency, interpretation of graphs/charts/tables, numerical ability etc.

2. All questions carry equal marks. Wrong and multiple answers would result in negative marks of 1/4.

3. To qualify against unreserved vacancies, candidates have to score at least 40% marks in Written Test with at least 30% marks in Part I and II separately. For reserved vacancies, wherever applicable, the qualifying criteria in Written Test is 30% marks with at least 25% marks scored in Part I and II separately.

4. Only those candidates who secure the minimum qualifying percentage of 40% (for unreserved) /30% (for reserved) will get empanelled as per the criteria of empanelment.

5. The Offer of Appointment shall be issued to the suitable candidates in the order of merit and based on the requirement. Appointment of selected candidates will be subject to their being found medically fit in the Pre-Employment Medical Examination to be conducted as per POWERGRID Norms and Standards of Medical Fitness.

3. Candidates are advised to upload the following documents while submitting online application:-

i. Scanned copy of recent passport size color photograph max. (50kb) in .JPG format

ii. Scanned signature of candidate max (30kb) in .JPG format

iii. Date of Birth Proof, i.e. Matric/ Birth Certificate (in pdf format)

iv. Qualification Certificate (Diploma) along with Mark Sheets of all years/semesters along with proof of norms adopted by the University/ Institute to convert CGPA/OGPA/DGPA into percentage (if applicable) (in pdf format)

v. Candidates working in Govt./ PSU are required to apply through proper channel and need to upload "No Objection Certificate" from the present employer in pdf format.

vi. Caste Certificate in the prescribed GOI format issued by Competent Authority (if applicable) in pdf format

vii. Disability Certificate in the prescribed GOI format issued by Competent Authority (if applicable) in pdf format

viii.Ex-Serviceman Discharge Certificate (if applicable ) in pdf format

ix. Domicile cum Age relaxation certificates for Candidates from J&K State/ Riots Victim in the prescribed GOI format issued by Competent Authority (if applicable in pdf format

x. Employment Exchange Registration Certificate/ receipt (if applicable) in pdf format

4. Applicants are advised to take a print out of the submitted online application and note down the user ID and password generated at the time of online registration. On further announcement of dates for the written test, the eligible candidates shall download Admit cards from the above website for appearing in the test. In case the candidate qualifies the written test, they shall furnish the downloaded application at the time of document verification/joining along with the documents as mentioned above in original as well as one set of self attested photocopies of documents in support of their identity, age, qualification, caste, disability etc.

5. After successful completion of registration process, the candidate will receive an email with details of his/her Login ID. Candidate is required to login to career page through candidate login ID received for payment of fees. Online payment can be made through Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Net Banking. The candidate is required to check the status of payment. In case, the payment transaction fails and the amount is deducted, the candidates will have to check any update in status of his/her payment in candidate login home page. In case there is no change in the payment status, he/ she may mail the query to nr2rectt@powergrid.co.in stating the issue and mentioning his/ her POWERGRID Registration No. Payment once done cannot be refunded. Candidates are advised not to wait till last date for submission of application or payment of fees.

6. Candidates are not required to forward the hard copies of application

7. The admit card indicating Roll Number, Name of Test Center and guidelines for the test will be made available on our website to the candidates found preliminary eligible based on the online application. The candidate has to download his/her Admit card, Test Guidelines etc. for appearing in the test from the website only. Please note that the admit card will not be sent by post.
