We are looking for a motivated, junior Product Designer to work with our Global User Experience team. The candidate will be immersed in a stimulating design thinking culture. You'll partner with product owners, engineers and other designers to create the next generation of HID solutions, help refine user flows, deliver new features, and create detailed wireframes. The designer in this role will relentlessly advocate for the user, help create elegant and simple experiences centered on users needs, help define our customer journeys and embrace an inclusive design approach.

The ideal candidate is someone who is experienced in at least one design tool (such as Sketch and its plug-ins, Figma, UX Pin, InVision, and/or Adobe suite) and familiar with all phases of product design from ideation to development, including prototyping and iterative design.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Contribute to the design of simple and elegant experiences across multiple touch points, including web, mobile, LCD screens, and more.
• Produce low-fidelity prototypes and high-fidelity wireframes based on a Design Thinking approach
• Implement user-centric product requirements and design patterns
• Contribute to the HID Design System with elegant experience patterns

Qualifications

• Portfolio focused on UI and product design
• Familiarity with user experience best practices and trends

Desired but not required
• Experience integrating user research feedback in their work
• Experience participating in cross-functional design activities and workshops

Education and/or Experience
• BA/BS degree in Design (e.g. interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial, etc), Human-Computer Interactions (HCI) or related field, or equivalent work experience
• 1+ years of experience in product designer or similar role

Language Skills
• Ability to effectively communicate in the English language, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to read and interpret technical journals, specifications, international technical standards, etc.

Computer Skills
• Familiar with at least 1 design tool (such as Figma, Sketch and its plug-ins, or Illustrator)
• Familiar with in prototyping tools (such as Axure or InVision)

Work Requirements

• Travel and fieldwork, including international travel may be required. Therefore, employee must possess, or be able to acquire a valid passport.
• Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which you are hired.
