Independent certificate courses conducted by private institutions like Aptech, NIIT etc may or may not be accepted by the educational institutions in the United States.

Most universities require applicants to submit their TOEFL scores to prove their English language proficiency. Scores of other exams like GRE, GMAT, LSAT or other exams relevant to the candidate's preferred choice course should be submitted.

Applicants are required to submit their work experience details, letter of recommendation and statement of purpose by most universities in USA. On completion of the application process, the university conducts an interview of the applicant to know more about him. A successful interview generally results in the applicant getting enrolled.
