Amphan Cyclone Live Updates: Evacuations have begun as Odisha and West Bengal brace for Amphan which has now turned into a super cyclonic storm. The IMD has issued an orange alert for Bengal and Odisha as the cyclone inches closer to the coasts. NDRF teams are already on the ground.



The extremely severe cyclonic storm Amphan has now turned into a super cyclonic storm and is spiralling towards Indian shores, prompting the West Bengal and Odisha governments to start evacuating people from vulnerable areas.

The super cyclonic storm is only the second over the Bay of Bengal in two decades. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has deployed 41 teams in the coastal areas of Bengal and Odisha. Amphan is expected to make landfall on West Bengal coast on May 20 as an extremely severe cyclonic storm.

Dear Rajoe,

Nice Share. But its very sad to know the cyclone had moved near West Bengal.

But nothing near Tamil Nadu / Chennai . Though they said 18, 19 and 20 th may 2020 will have have air.

Honestly it was vague in Chennai yesterday.
