Happy Republic Day to all Beloved INDIANS !!!

I could not forget this day because of two reasons happened in my Home... First & Most is,

Yesterday (26th Jan 2014), my grand ma aged 85. She forced me to change the channel to see the flag hosting in Door Darshan. But, that channel has not open. But, luckily in Jaya TV showing live program of Flag hosting by Hon' Governor in Chennai.

While parade is going on with our Flag, my grandma stand up and salute by holding one hand on wall. I noticed she got tears. Also she explained the olden days of forming the government rules and problems on 1950's. Even she said, in Ashok Nagar Chennai near by Anjaneya Temple there's a Temple for Bharatha Matha on the days. I shocked i didn't know about this even most of them. She couldn't hear or see properly even struggle to stand. But, our National Music on Launch, i really shocked to see without any one support she stand and salute our nation.

Today's generations are running behind to get chocolates and sweets after flag hosting and waiting to see some nonsense programs on commercial channels. But, the people who knows the earlier struggles and really loved INDIA, their breathe, their smell, their blood, heart, brain complete of BHARATH MATHA.

"She finally said, even after my death also, my soul will be hiding some where and see this Proud Parade and Flag Host not in TV, in REAL STADIUM".

With complete silence, my legs automatically stand salute our Country, but my eyes watching only my Grandma....

Proud to be an INDIA.. Don't Forget the History, Make it History for Future...

Jai Hind !!!!!

Encouraged by the tremendous response generated for the first-ever Live-streaming of India's Republic Day Parade in full HD this 26th January, we, Doordarshan's official channel on Youtube now bring to you the annual musical extravaganza - which marks the culmination of the Republic Day festivities - The Beating Retreat, LIVE from Vijay Chowk, New Delhi.

Beating Retreat officially denotes the end of Republic Day festivities. It is conducted on the evening of January 29 - the third day after the Republic Day and is performed by the bands of the three wings of the military - the Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force. The venue is Raisina Hills and an adjacent square, Vijay Chowk, flanked by the North and South block of the Rashtrapati Bhavan (President's Palace). The Chief Guest of the function is the President of India who arrives escorted by the 'President's Bodyguards' (PBG), a cavalry unit. The ceremony was started in the early 1950s when Major Roberts of the Indian Army developed a display by the massed bands in which Military Bands - Pipes and Drum Bands, Buglers and Trumpeters - from various Army Regiments along with bands from the Navy and Air Force take part. They play popular tunes like Abide With Me, Mahatma Gandhi's favourite Hymn, and Saare Jahan Se Achcha.
